GETTING READY
All you need to do is back up your main tree. Back up manually (File>Backup) and keep a copy outside your computer, preferably in a secure online location. That's it!

GETTING TO KNOW FTM 2024
There is an updated Companion Guide you can open from the Help menu. If you are an experienced Family Tree Maker user, you may want to start with the chapter on the new Connect workspace – an ambitious new feature that will help you enlist your relatives in fact-checking their part of your tree and adding their own memories and adventures to your family's story.
WE'LL BE CHECKING IN
After you have installed FTM 2024 and have used it for a few days, the co-pilot program will do a brief diagnostic test and offer help for anything that you may be stuck on. It's fast, free, and friendly, and we think you'll find it useful.
